ACM India Council Appoints Rutvi Shah as ACM India W Chair

ACM India Council in it’s meeting on 24 June 2023, appointed Rutvi Shah as Chair of ACM India W (ACMI-W) Committee for the period July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2025. ACM India Council also appointed Manik Gupta of BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus as Vice Chair and Geetanjali V Kale of PICT, Pune as Secretary/Treasurer.

Rutvi Shah has been volunteering for ACMI-W since 2015, and has been instrumental in organizing events, conferences, workshops, and seminars focused on women in computing. She has served as Web Chair for Ahmedabad Professional Chapter and as Secretary/Treasurer in ACMI-W Committee during 2021-23.

She is in academics for the last 18 years and currently associated with Sardar Vallabhbhai Global University, Ahmedabad, teaching UG and PG Computer Applications Courses. She holds a PhD in Computer Science with research area focused on automated systems for medical image processing. She has undertaken research endeavors encompassing the realm of Data Science, Machine Learning and its affiliated areas. She hosts sessions for trending research areas, is on the board of the Technical Program Committee, and is a reviewer of various reputed International Conferences.

She believes that by leveraging her capabilities in information retrieval, analysis, and communication, she can be pivotal in generating strategic guidance in bridging the gender gap, nurturing talent, and championing diversity in the Indian technology landscape.
